Beading Babes ~ Project 6 - July/August 2012

Welcome to Project 6
of
Beading Babes!

This month I have decided to challenge you...which is what this group was aimed at doing!

This Project we have 4 spectacular projects on offer - all to challenge you in techniques you may not have already tackled.

You will note this project I have also included the techniques used in the designs and the project level (i.e. beginner, intermediate etc) to help you when deciding which project/s you might like to tackle.

Just a reminder that you don't have to complete all of the projects listed below. You can do as many or as few as you like... you can even do more than one of the same project...it's up to you!

Also please discuss the projects on our Facebook page or on your blog and feel free to post your progress shots too... the more bead chat the better!

So without further ado here are the projects!

This is my first project with the Beading Babes, I'm really excited and love the projects! But I'm not sure of the rules if there are any. Do we pick just one, or do all three, do we need to tell anyone what we are doing? Thanks so much!

Hi Mandy

I will edit the post for new members... however you don't have to do all of the projects. Some people like to challenge themselves further and do all of them on offer. We discuss the projects on the Facebook page so fee free to share what you are working on as well as any progress shots on Facebook or your blog!

I hope that helps. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions!

Thank you for putting this together. The projects look awesome and I'm excited tovdig into my back issues. I've been wanting to try bead embroidery and here's my chance. :). I would not mind if you added a necklace. It 's always nice to have choices. :)

Yes, add a necklace! hee hee, a cool rope of some kind would be neat.

Karyn, one more question, do we follow the pattern and just switch beads, clasps, etc, or are we supposed to make it something different? Thanks!

Whooooohoooo!! I was planning on this cuff already :D :D (well a variation of it at least) Hmmmm Now I have to find a place to get the cording for the soutache! AND I also have already purchased some of the supplies for the daisy chain!! You are a mind reader!!! :D :D :D YAY!!!!!

Mandy - you can do whatever you like. Some members adapt the pattern to suit the beads they have in their stash to save buying new ones (i.e. they might use 3mm firepolished beads instead of pearls or crystals)...it's up to you!

Ladies - be sure to check out Amee McNamara's site where I mention the soutache pattern... she actually has soutache cord on her site - might be an option for those of you in the US.

Yipee! My first project, too! I want to do them all, including a necklace, but I'm not sure time will allow! I do have 2 weeks in CA with plenty of free time, though!

Hi Karen,
These are all great choices The only style I have not done yet is the soutache. I would like to have the necklace added as a choice.

Oooh! Don't know if I will be able to steal the time away from gardening/harvesting/processing this month, but I SO want to make those soutache earrings! Great picks!

Woo Hoo I can't wait to get started! Thanks so much for all that you do for the babes!

All three choices caught my attention when I saw them in the magazines. Now I can give one or more a try. Would like to see the necklace option as well!

A good variety of choices, Karyn. I think I would like to see the necklace project too although I certainly won't be tackling the whole four. It's great that you direct us back to issues of magazines which may have been purchased but are now lying idle (in my case anyway). It is forcing me to get some use from them.
thanks for organising this.

Thanks for the necklace design. I knew I bought all those Delicas at the Spotlight sale for a good purpose!
