You might recall I was recently working on a piece which I had unpicked several times...ok about seven or eight times before I was ''happy''.
Well here is the finished piece!
The style of this piece is something a little different and new from me as I have never really used chain as the necklace for one of my beaded cabochons.
I usually create a beaded necklace or use a simple, pretty organza ribbon but I really do love the look of the chain with the metallic cubes.
The polymer clay cabochon is by Rachele of Rachele's Originals and the piece has been stitched with delicas, size 6/0 and 11/0 seed beads as well as cube beads.
I originally had a peyote link coming off either side of the cabochon but for some reason I could not get the piece to balance nicely so I finally opted for just the one link hanging the piece from the centre.
What do you think?
I think I might be using chain in my pieces more often!

Wow! It's gorgeous! Looks like it was totally worth unpicking it so many times. :)
I love the chains!!! And I love how you attached the bail through one of the chain links.
Those cubes also look great and give the pendant a bit of an edge!
Do you already have an outfit to go with your masterpiece? ;)
Have a wonderful and creative week!

Es ... precioso, espectacular, ....!!!
Thanks ladies.
Jana - I tend to wear a lot of browns so I think this will go with virtually any outfit of mine!! I have to say I am pretty pleased with the final look of the chain!
Sometimes we have an idea in mind but find we must do what the piece "tells" us to do. The finished piece then becomes a collaboration between the art and the artist and those are usually the most stunning creations.
The pendant turned out beautifully, I particularly like the fact that you chose to hang it from several strands of chain instead of the predictable beaded necklace. This makes it all the more unique and precious.
Oh Yeah I like the chain with this one! I love the cab too! I think this will turn alot of heads when you wear it! So worth the unpicking!
I am soooo happy that you'll be able to start playing soon. You're gonna love it! Also, thanks for the encouragement about the tutorials. I'm slowly but surely getting where I want to with those, the downside is all the time spent staring at a computer screen and not at beads!
Looks great, Karyn! The chain is a wonderful touch, and I love how you've attached the bail with a chain link. I'm sure you'll receive lots of compliments on this one! ;-)
Wow, it's turned out so good!! You are such a spectacular artist, and you it makes me so humbled that you used one of my clay beads. Thank you so much :)
Hugs,
Rachele
