Beading Babes ~ Project 4 Update #2

I am l♥ving the Ruffled Chain Bracelet.

This is such a gorgeous piece.

The pattern is really easy to follow and so far I haven't come across any errors in the pattern. The pattern is written really well, easy to understand and the diagrams are pretty good too - for those who rely heavily on diagrams rather than the actual tutorial.

Super easy!

The only problem I did have was deciding what colours to use!

As you might have read in my previous Project 4 update the beads I had originally planned on using arrived and were...well the wrong colour.

I then decided to use some 8mm beads I had forgotten about found in my stash...gorgeous millefiori beads.

Now you'd think that the primary colours in these beads would be an easy match...but nope.
I didn't seem to have the right "traffic light" green...my red was the wrong shade and the only blues I had were either more purple in colour or silver lined which I didn't want to use.

The lesson learnt here is that it seems my size 15/0 colour selection isn't as vast as my 11/0's!

Anyhooo I tried again...I figured 3rd time lucky and have now found a combination I am happy with.

Ahhhh!

Nothing worse that not being satisfied with your colour choices.
It's funny how all of a sudden you get that feeling in your heart and mind, you know where you look at the colours and just know they work...or don't!

So far I have stitched two components - only 4 four to go!

The individual components are going to make cute earrings too so I will definitely be making a pair to match my bracelet...and I reckon you could use one as a pendant too.

On the up side I have two completed components in other colours so I guess I could always use them for something else!

Has anyone else started this project yet?

Do you make a wish list?

I've always felt a bit funny providing people with lists of things that I want for Christmas.

I am always happy with the fact that someone has thought enough of me to buy me a gift but over the past few weeks I have been requested to write a list of things I'd like as apparently I am getting difficult to buy for...REALLY?

Anyhoo ... for those that think I am difficult, here are a few things I am quite partial to.

*
Gorgeous tote bags from Mary Engelbreit.

I've loved Mary Engelbreit's work ever since my good friend, Traci, introduced me to her whilst I was in the USA in 1990!

I looked at buying myself one of these. They are $14.99 but the site quoted me around $98.00 for postage to Australia...ummm excuse me!!!

~~

Christmas is not quite the same without a little Dexter Morgan!
Season 5 please!

~~

Crystal Brilliance beading book.

~~

Gift voucher (not necessarily the specific amount) from one of my favourite bead suppliers,
The aim is to buy lots of seed beads and Czech beads.

~~
Gorgeous earrings from Sanfranblissco via Etsy.

~
Forgotten World necklace by Helmitarha via Etsy.
I've had my eye on this one since Jana made it!

Adorable "Three Little Birds" bracelet by West Byron via Etsy. I can't help but smile every time I look at this piece.

~
Bejeweled Bollywood bib necklace by Windy River via Etsy.

Picasso Flower bracelet by ZoojaDesign via Etsy.

Classy Key Necklace tutorial by Stick Lizard Designs via Etsy.

~
Toss the Feathers bracelet tutorial by Smadar's Treasure via Etsy.

I'm seriously not expecting to get some of these as they are a little pricey but you know it's not called a WISH list for nothing!

Do you have anything special on your wish list this year?

Remember if you can...

...even if it's just a few pressies!

ARUBA BLUE BRACELET...

Well my bracelets aren't blue but they are Aruba!

The design, Aruba Blue Bracelet, is by Ellad2
A simple but gorgeous bracelet stitched in RAW (right angle weave).

The silver and black bracelet was my first attempt.
This bracelet is such a joy to stitch and so quick and easy that I couldn't resist making another one in  pink... all for myself!

Of course the black and silver is all mine too!
I do love to spoil myself!

I reckon you can whip up one of these bracelets in around 2 hours or less...
I haven't actually timed myself yet but they are super duper quick which makes them all the more desirable!

The tutorial is well written, easy to follow with fantastic step-by-step photos.

I have to admit I'm a fan of photos over diagrams when it comes to tutorials... it certainly makes following the instructions a  lot easier and I feel it adds that extra personal touch.

If you haven't checked out Ellad2's Etsy store then drop in and have a looksee.

I've purchased around 10 of her patterns and if the others are as easy as this one then I reckon I just might have struck gold!
