Over the past week or so I have been working on the first of my Beading Babes projects for 2012,
Runway of Pearls by Barbara Falkowitz.
Sadly I am still waiting on my bead order to arrive which contains my wee little pearls I need to continue on with this piece so this is far as I have got.
Runway of Pearls by Barbara Falkowitz.
Sadly I am still waiting on my bead order to arrive which contains my wee little pearls I need to continue on with this piece so this is far as I have got.
I have used 2mm Jet Czech fire polished beads instead of the triangle beads and have used matte silver grey size 11/0 beads and black size 15/0 beads.
I think I will make my reversible so I will be stitching the other side in black and silver.
I did originally use all black beads but it was just a bit too bland, even with the sparkle of the Czech beads.
It has worked out a bit of a pricey piece as I had to order 400 Czech beads costing me $20.00 but the sparkle is worth it!

This is a pendant I finished last week.
It is based on Marcie Abney's Looking Glass pendant.
I ended up adding a few extra rows which resulted in a frilled edge which I quite like!
These pendants are so quick and easy to stitch up and really do make nice gifts!
What's making an appearance in your creative space this week?

I LOVE both projects! I ended up using hex beads on the base and I really like it so far! I still want to do one of the window pendants, but currently I have the Runway bracelet started, working on a cuff idea I literally dreamed up last night, and I have a pair of earrings to finish up for a lady, and I'm going to try my hand at some chain maille this week! I can never have just ONE project going at a time. :)
"Releases by Rufydoof" has been included in this weeks A Sunday Drive. I hope this helps to attract even more new visitors here.

Love the extra rows in the pendant, i like it circukar too. I am also waiting on a shipment for (2mm fp rounds)for my runway of pearls got about 2/3 of e base done....I am having a heck of a time with the rosettes! I'll give it a go today again to see if I can figure out where I am having a hard time!
Well, yours is certainly turning out pretty! Wish I had thought of fp'd. I tried cubes (horrible) and big honkin' size 5/0 triangles. The triangles were better, but it doesn't look anything like the original. :)
I like your bracelet so far. I've not started mine but I've chosen the beads. I'm going to use size 8 triangles for the base. I don't really like the 11's and I didn't want to order any. I think it's going to look different but I think that's okay!
Karyn, those are both gorgeous. I love the colors you chose for Runway of Pearls. I can't wait to see the finished product.
