I hate to admit it but I have become a fan of Fireline.
I never thought this day would come as I have been very anti Fireline for many years now.
I had only ever tried 1lb which I now know was a ridiculous strength to buy.
I have now used 6lb and love it.
I don't however like that Smoke leaves little black lines on my fingers but thanks to super smart Juls I now know that a quick wipe with some paper towels before stitching fixes that problem.
You know why I love it now?
When I was stitching my Persian Lullaby bracelet I was being a little too pedantic about the neatness and had to unpick it several times. If I had been stitching the piece using my regular Nymo 00 or KO Thread I probably would have had to start all over again as these two threads are not too forgiving when it comes to unpicking a piece a few times...it ends up splitting and fraying and becoming one big fur ball.
Not with the Fireline.
I am impressed!
I am off to buy myself some kick butt 300 yard rolls of 4lb and 6lb... at a ridiculously stupid can't go past it price!
I will always have a place in my heart for my beloved Nymo and KO thread but they will only be making an appearance in my bead embroidery.

I resisted Fireline too, but love it now. Get a roll of crystal (white) for light coloured beads too. I hear you can run the crystal thru a felt tip marker to colur it if you want.you know what I like best about it? No issues threading the needle!
I keep trying to get over the nymo hump! So far I still only use it freeform bead weaving!
Karyn,
Thanks for stopping by and chiming in on my silver vs. copper conundrum! It's nice to hear the opinion of someone who has actually purchased silver jewelry! Oh, and about fireline...I'm never crossing over! You can't convince me! (I'm glad you're liking it though!) Oh, by the way, I'd love to donate a pattern to your beading group if you'd like! Just let me know!
How sweet is Marcie!!!! I am so glad you have crossed over! It is great for weaving like this. When I attempt embroidery I know that nymo with be the best but until that it is Fireline all the way for me!!!!!!
I'm a confirmed Fireline user, too, and for the reason you mentioned, but also because if I'm using crystals in a piece I don't have to worry.
I love Fireline too. When I want softness I use KO. It doesn't leave the same furballs to which Nymo is prone. I have never used Nymo on the big cone, but that is supposed to be a completely different product and many people swear by it.
I've looked at buying Nymo on the bigger spool but never thought it would be a different product - interesting!
