A day out at Underwater World

Today Alan, Spencer, Grandma and I visited Underwater World at Mooloolabah on the Sunshine Coast which is about 1.5hrs drive from home.

We all had a fantastic day. Spencer seemed to really enjoy himself and especially seemed to enjoy the "Seals behaving badly" show waving at the seals and applauding them when they performed one of their tricks.

One of the highlights of the day though was the stingray feedings which were taking place as we arrived. These rays were enormous and propped themselves up on the side of the pool waiting to be fed. They were almost performing like the seals flapping themselves about and hitting the sides of the small pool demanding food... and wetting everyone in the process!

We also saw lots of cute little turtles, the adorable and playful little otters as well as some amazingly beautiful fish in the walk-through aquarium where the fish swim above and around you as you are moved slowly along a travelator.

The day was made complete with a bite to eat and one big cup of Vanilla ice-cream for Spencer... one bottle of milk and around 10 minutes later and we had one exhausted little boy who slept the whole way home!
