Inspiration is everywhere - the finer things in life!

With so many talented artists about these days it's always easy to look to other people's work for inspiration.

But what about looking around you...you know...the natural beauty that we take for granted.

As you know we recently took a trip to Sydney which included a visit to Taronga Zoo.

In one of the exhibits we saw some of the most amazing birds.

The colours of their feathers were exquisite and I couldn't help imaging these beautiful colours featured in a beaded piece.

Check out these gorgeous birds and their equally beautiful colour palettes!

Another favourite place of mine to draw inspiration in terms of colour is the garden.

Breathtaking ginger plants

Sometimes the simplest things in life can be the most beautiful.

What inspires you?

We had a fantastic week in Newcastle and Sydney.

As you can see we had a pretty busy week, coming home feeling exhausted.

I think I need another week just to get over this week!

I'm back

I've been away for the past week on a fun filled trip to Sydney catching up with family and friends not to mention visiting the Harry Potter Exhibition, lots of sight seeing and even catching a Picasso exhibit.

I've had a really busy week which resulted in me getting absolutely no beading done and even though I offered a few weeks extension to the reveal date for Beading Babes...I have still managed to fall behind and am now frantically trying to get my pieces done!

Of course, like I've always said, there is no pressure to get your pieces completed by the reveal date but as the group organiser I figure at least I should have my pieces completed on time!

So I better hop to it.

Ok perhaps not right now seems it's 11.13pm.

But tomorrow!

For all of you Harry Potter fans I'll be posting some pics from our trip in the next few days!
