See... there is method to my madness!

I was in Borders on the weekend and came across this super cool Lego book.

It's a 2 book pack and contains The Lego Book and Standing Small.
It's a wonderful treasury of Lego kits and figures dating back to the late 1960's and includes a history of Lego... pure eye candy for any Lego lover.

Borders was selling it for $68.95 and even though I had a 30% off discount voucher I resisted the temptation to buy it.

Whilst looking to order some beading books online I found the same book selling for $49.00 which I thought was a fantastic price considering how much Borders was selling the book for.

As the item description for the online store didn't mention whether it was a 2 book set I sent them an email asking them to confirm the number of books before I ordered it... assuming it was much cheaper because it only contained one book.

Anyhoooo last night I was shopping at Target and found the same book... 2 books and all... for the bargain price of

$39.00

and that was their everyday price!

My hubby is always teasing me for shopping around before I commit to buying something but I think last night he realised there is method to my madness!

Now the only issue we have is trying to decide who gets to look at the books first .... mummy, daddy or Spencer...at least there are 2 books to fight over!

Karyn, I'm exactly the same...I ALWAYS shop around before buying just about anything! LOL Thankfully some of it is rubbing off on Anthony, he always makes a point of telling me that he's shopped around before buying something now (he used be be a huge impulse buyer! LOL)

I find Borders to almost always be overpriced...they charge at least $20 for Beadwork or B&B!!!

I saw that! And now I have to hunt down the Lego Advent Calendar!

Yes Belinda - Borders are very expensive. I have found most beading books are around $20 if not more expensive than anywhere else. They say the cover price for the magazines is so expensive as they are "speeded delivery''.... which is another great reason to subscribe!

Lori - it's such a great book and yes the Advent Calendar does look pretty cool. My husband now wants a Star Wars Death Star kit that is in the book...at the low low price of $699.00!!! OUCH!

We bought this set of books for my son last Christmas and they are much loved and read often - and now you too will learn obscure mini figure facts!

It is a great book. My son was drooling over it! And, thank you. Now I know where I can go and get it, and afford it. :) Hmmmm, am I starting Christmas shopping early?

In this economy shopping for the best price is always a good thing. Borders in the US is very expensive too. However, they have the best magazine section ever!
