When Alan was a boy he had a wonderful collection of Lego. Following in the footsteps of his daddy, Spencer has a wonderful collection of little boys' Lego, Mega Blocks and Duplo.
For a while now we have been debating whether, because of the size of the pieces, Spencer is too young to enjoy daddy's Lego collection.
Well a few weekends ago the Lego was unveiled! I really wish I had've had my camera handy when Alan opened the lid as the look on Spencer's face was priceless.

Alan's Lego collection seems to follow two themes - medieval Knights and Space. Apart from the little horses which Spencer spent hours playing with I think what he enjoyed the most was spending time with daddy. Alan decided to make Spencer a space ship... not just any space ship... a space ship that took him nearly 3 hours to make so Spencer really relished in spending 3 hours solid playing Lego!
We all created some great pieces. Spencer made a little space buggy and mummy made a medieval style cart.

So nearly 30 years on, Alan's Lego collection is still going strong and needless to say Spencer and daddy will enjoy many hours of fun building space ships, rockets and dragons!

It makes me wish my mom would have kept all of my bothers' legos. That is awesome that Alan kept his. My boys love their legos, especially their Star Wars Legos. Those are off limits to the younger ones. How fun for Alan and Spencer.
He loves it... the only problem is that the pieces are probably still a little bit small for him so we have to supervise him whilst he plays with it... but I think he enjoys that more as it means mummy and daddy have to sit with him!!
